Legendary Event That Gets Better Every Year
I’ve run every Portland Pig Run since the very first one. It has become a can’t miss weekend in the diary. The organisation is always spot on, with a crew that brings energy and support from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.
What makes it really special is the mix of runners, some chasing personal bests, others just enjoying the experience. Everyone is so friendly and the campsite adds to the fun. Highly recommend!

Mark and his team run such a great event.
As newbies to this particular race we were welcomed with open arms and supported from beginning to end by all involved.
The course takes you through urban areas, a quarry and along a stunning coastal route.
The event is professionally run, yet friendly and relaxed and I’d recommend it whether you’re new to BYU, or a seasoned competitor.
See you next May!

Excellent lapped event in a stunning location
Love every aspect of the event. How it works, the signage, the elevation, scenery, support from marshals, the route is quiet from vehicles and pedestrians.

I cannot fault any part of the event organisation. The format of the BackYard might not be for everyone but if you fancy a go then this one is fantastic. The scenery was incredible and the people involved could not have done more to make everyone welcome! Thanks again to all involved.

An incredible, well organised event with stunning views that make you want to attempt ‘just one more loop’ as well amazing marshalls to cheer you on for as long as you can carry on for!

Have entered the Portland Pig in all 3 years. The backyard ultra format is brutal but Bustinskins know how to put on a show and it was a cracking weekend again. Will be back next year for more of the same. An incredible event
Absolutely loved it. The route was incredibly scenic, the staff were so friendly. Highly recommended to anyone. I'll be back next year.

Superb organization, atmosphere and course - everything you could want in a Backyard Ultra.
If you could camp in the field the night before the event it would be great. Apart from that, you couldn't improve the event.

The best way to get miles done
Excellent venue and route. Pretty flat which allows us to do more. Great support from the event crew and other runners and their support. I will be back again.
