My lady bits got cold!!
Bloody love running round Bovington training camp. There is nothing quite like it.
Depending on height, I’m short, depends on how deep the water is. The taller the better!!
January equals cold, wet water and due to the amount of rain, lots of water.
There are some hills. Short sharp ones. And there is sand, slug in marmite kind of sand.
Do i recommend this run??
YES I DO. Sign up and do it.
chilly !
loved it! great fun and very happy the cargo negs had a day off :-D
Well organised with amazing marshalls. Great fun in the mud and wet.
Tough and muddy
Great fun despite the appalling weather!!!
The weather was as awful as it possibly could be on a Sunday in January, but we went along anyway and tried not to regret the decision to take part whilst shivering on the starting line in the howling gales and stinging rain! Despite this we really enjoyed taking part and warmed up quickly as soon as we started running... well part run, part wading and part walking! Really friendly officials helping us work out which way to go and cheering us along en route. :)
A perfectly normal way to spend a sunday morning
Absolutely loved it! The course was definitely a challenge and Id actually say running up and over the ramp was the most straight forward bit despite having to do it 4 times.
Super fun in wild weather!
Brilliant day, even though the weather was against us!
Where was the cargo nets!
Unfortunately due to the weather we were advised against using them this time round :)
Great event, lots of fun and enthusiasm, well organised as usual especially despite the stormy weather !
Amazing
Great event well organised fantastic marshals, Looking forward to next year’s
It's not for the fault hearted and it gets better each year but everyone should try it whatever distance suits
Anyone could try this if they really wanted to it's a fun muddy run with a chance to rinse off several times during the run...
Tough, wet, cold and BRILLIANT
I both love and hate this run. It is my favourite organised race but it is one of the toughest! I have run about 7 Dirty Devil Stampede's and would be upset to miss one. However it is miserable. Cold, wet, muddy, hip height puddles, cold, wet, sandy and cold. I don't know why I love it so much. It could be the atmosphere, the fact it's very well organised or of course getting another buff to add to my collection. It could be the positive effects on mental health of cold plunges and feeling like I've achieved something. Either way I'd highly recommend it and hope it continues!
very good
Marshals were fantastic
Even in the god awful weather today this event didn’t disappoint.
Top notch organisation, hype from the get go, marshals cheering you on as you go round and the all important final trek up the knife edge. Took an hour to defrost myself after but of course I’ll be back next year for more of the same!
Freezing cold and moist! Loved the waist deep puddles
The atmosphere wasn't so good as other years, probably due to the weather. Would have loved to have seen some inflatables and the netting too. Otherwise it was great, really enjoyed it
We couldn't add the inflatables or the cargo net as we were advised against it - inflatable fish blowing around the tank training ground for the next few months wouldn't have been a great look from us :)
Fantastic muddy experience
I’m new to running events but this was fantastic! Great organisation and atmosphere was incredible! Would definitely look to sign up for another!!!
Great route
If possible to make it a 10k as route was short.
As advised David, this is a 10k'ish distance as we go where we are told by the MOD! I'm sure that info is somewhere in the race brief :)
Bloody Brilliant Event 6th time doing it!
Great.
Epic race, loved it despite the severe weather
I knew you wouldn’t cancel it due to the weather, and I applaud you for it. It made an extremely tough course even more challenging and memorable. Thanks to all of the organisers and people supporting the race.
